TL;DR: In 2011, I was tired of being chained to my Blackberry (ha!), so I decided to live for 90 days completely off the technological grid; no cell phone, no internet, and no TV. It ended up being one of the best decisions I ever made. The story got picked up by the popular press, I ended up on Good Morning America, and then David Perez (creative recruiter at Leo Burnett at the time) inexplicabally offered me my first job in advertising.
With no other method of communication, I got really good at writing letters. Well, "really good" depends on who you're asking.
