#TheAmishProject

In 2011, I was tired of being chained to my Blackberry (ha!), so I decided to live for 90 days completely off the technological grid; no cell phone, no internet, and no TV. It ended up being one of the best decisions I ever made. The story got picked up by the popular press, I ended up on Good Morning America, David Perez (creative recruiter at Leo Burnett at the time) saw the interview and inexplicabally offered me my first job in advertising.

Recognition: This story - and the now-extremely-cringeworthy iMovie video I made to accompany it - were covered by The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Tonight Show, Ellen, USA Today, CNN, Yahoo!, Upworthy and 20+ additional press outlets.

With no other method of communication, I got really good at writing letters. Well, "really good" depends on who you're asking.
